ART CURATOR | SEEKER OF LOST BEAUTY | ROME, ITALY

PAOLO SALINI

Who is Paolo Salini

Paolo Salini was born in Rome in 1941, into a modest family from the Campo de’ Fiori district. From a young age, he stood out for his insatiable curiosity for art and a rare ability to “see” what others overlook.

A self-taught scholar, he began visiting Roman museums and churches, immersing himself in the wonders of the Baroque. After gaining experience in a restoration workshop, he launched his own antiques business at the age of twenty.

Throughout his career, Salini established himself as an independent researcher of lost artworks. His discoveries include paintings by Carracci, Caravaggio, Ribera, Artemisia Gentileschi, Dosso Dossi, and other great 17th-century masters, now exhibited in major international museums such as the Metropolitan Museum in New York, the Prado Museum in Madrid, the Louvre in Paris, and the Staatliche Museen in Berlin
